Teen Club provides a safe haven for high school students to meet positive and encouraging people who will help them prepare for their future.
“Being at Teen Club made me more dependable and more responsible. Mrs. Lovelace kept telling me how good of a child I am and it was a motivator to not stop. She kept pushing me to achieve my goals.”
About Teen Club
After the younger kids leave the LightHouse, the high school students walk in to meet for Teen Club. As a group, the students work on homework, plan for future careers, ways to serve the community and support each other.
As of the 2018-19 school year, Teen Club is also operating at Booker T. Washington High School. The original Teen Club still meets in the evenings twice a week at the Travis Street LightHouse.
To participate in Teen Club, contact Dewanna Lovelace at Dewanna.Lovelace@voanorthla.org.
You can set our teens on the right path by providing opportunities for job shadowing or Internships. As well, ACT prep tutors/ homework help, and professional speakers are always welcomed.
