Volunteers of America North Louisiana (VOANLA) is pleased to announce seven new Board members, bringing the total number of Board members to 29 community leaders.
The new members are Katherine Douthitt, attorney at Sycamore Land and Title, LLC and co-founder of SouthStone Solutions, LLC; Jeanette Garrett, retired trial and appellate judge and Shreveport native; Taylor Jamison, director of regulatory and political affairs at NextEra Energy Resources; Jay Manno, president of Southland Printing Company, Inc.; Jordan McCart, owner and manager of Air Systems, LLC; Art Schuldt, Jr., founder partner of SGB Architects, LLC and one of the two founding partners of Housing Solutions Alliance, LLC; and Dr. Elizabeth Wadhwa, pediatric hematologist/oncologist at Ochsner LSU Health.
Bringing diverse expertise from across our community, each newly appointed Board member offers a deep commitment to service and leadership. Their role includes championing the mission of VOANLA, providing strategic oversight, and ensuring sound financial stewardship to help bridge an annual $2.7 million funding gap. This represents the difference between government funding received and the actual cost of delivering high-quality, comprehensive care to thousands of children, families, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and seniors throughout North Louisiana.
In addition, the organization welcomes Jonathan Reynolds as the new Treasurer! Dr. Sheyenne Carper will remain at the helm as leader, completing the second year of her two-year term. Other 2025-26 Board officers include Melissa Flores as Vice Chair and Dr. Ruby C. Scroggins as Secretary.
