People with Disabilities
All people have the right to live as independently as possible.
Volunteers of America North Louisiana was among the first in Louisiana to open group homes for people with disabilities. Today, those we serve include people with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and those with a chronic mental illness.
Supervised Independent Living
People with developmental disabilities can live in their own homes, as independently as possible through the Supportive Independent Living program. Clients are matched with a Direct Support Professional who works in the client’s home and helps them take care of day-to-day needs.
