Current Openings:

Volunteers of America North Louisiana is seeking a Senior Property Manager for the South Pointe Place and Embassy Apartments.  This position provides property management expertise and oversight at 100 or more units within the VOANLA portfolio.  This position enforces: prompt payment and terms of lease agreements; creates and cultivates tenant relationships; manages the administration of property operations and leasing to ensure safe and quality living and/or working environment; provides input into property budgeting, reviews financials for budgeting sustainability.  This position represents the interests of the property (ies) in all aspects of housing operations and monitors property performance related to financial, physical, operating systems and regulatory compliance.  The Senior Property Manager ensures preventive maintenance and initiates capital improvements at the property to maximize property life and financial returns. 

Job Requirements:  Minimum associate or bachelor degree from an accredited institution is required. A minimum of five years’ experience in property management is required. A minimum of three years’ experience in tax-credit experience is required. Professional certification in Housing Occupancy is required. Specific knowledge and training regarding HUD Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) inspections and regulatory guidelines is required. Experience in financial analysis, accounting, and regulatory compliance is required.  Specific knowledge of HUD housing programs, low-income housing tax credit programs and market housing is required.  Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively delegate, manage and motivate other employees and outside contacts are required.  Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally is required. Sound and accurate judgment with an ability to support and explain reasoning for decisions is necessary.

Support Specialist (Shreveport area) – The Level Up program, serving homeless youth ages 18-24, is hiring Support Specialists.  These positions will deliver specialized services to the participants designed to assist clients address educational, employment, and other identified needs that lead to independent living.  The candidate for this position will need to have knowledge of the community education system, job and job-related resources, behavioral health providers and other support resources that assure a healthy lifestyle and community integration.

A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or a high school diploma is accepted with several years serving youth with the described supports.  Prior work experience in a program that serves youth 18-24 is required.

CIS Site Coordinator (Shreveport area) – Resumes are currently being accepted for CIS Site Coordinator positions.  These are full time positions working in Caddo Parish.  The primary responsibility of this position is the overall planning and managing of the Communities in Schools (CIS) model of integrating student services at a school site.  The Site Coordinator will be employed and supervised by Volunteers of America North Louisiana, will work at the school site, and will be managed by the Principal of the school.  Essential responsibilities include:  implementation of the CIS model; working with school leadership to lead the annual needs assessment process; leading the development and implementation of the school site plan; leading and coordinating the delivery of evidence-based services; monitoring and adjusting services; and evaluating the effectiveness of achieving school and student individualized goals.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or a related field.  A master’s degree in social work is preferred.  Candidates with a social work degree are required to be, at minimum, registered with the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.  Candidates must successfully pass a criminal background check.

Child & Adolescent Mental Health Professional (Caddo and Bossier parishes) – We currently have an opening for a part time (approximately 20 hours per week) school-based Mental Health Professional in our Youth Behavioral Health program.  Primary responsibilities include providing supportive counseling, individual intervention, parent/family intervention and crisis intervention for school aged children with mental health and/or behavioral health issues.  Additional duties include collecting data for the initial assessment; conducting face-to-face interviews with the recipient and their family, which shall include school and home visits; providing crises intervention support as needed; and ensuring all records are accurately maintained and all invoicing is submitted in a timely manner.

Minimum requirements include a master’s degree in counseling or a related field; and full licensure in the State of Louisiana, or individuals in supervision for their license.

Mental Health Professional (Shreveport area) – Our Adult Behavioral Health Outpatient Treatment Program has an opening for a Mental Health Professional.  Primary responsibilities include providing community-based CPST/PSR services, individual intervention, crisis intervention, and facilitating a variety of groups to address the needs of our consumers; conducting initial assessments and re-assessments; administering and scoring LOCUS for adults as needed; maintaining consumer records, incident reports, service logs and progress notes, and timely billing entries; developing curriculum and providing staff training; and performing quality assurance functions as needed.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology.  Additional qualifications preferred, but not required, include a Board Certified Social Worker, or a Licensed Professional Counselor who is licensed under the provision of R.S. 37:1101-1115, or a candidate pursuing licensure or one whom has received provisional licensure.
