Volunteering To Help Those In Need

When Volunteers of America was founded in 1896, volunteering meant stepping forward to commit yourself to a cause. These early Volunteers of America pledged their whole lives—their hearts, spirits and professional careers to help people in need. Today, Volunteers of America’s staff of paid professionals adopts this same ideal of service. But we cannot be successful without our modern day volunteers who  dedicate their free time and talent to support our most vulnerable neighbors. Their service could be tutoring children, helping Veterans create a budget or supporting our administrative staff on a board. All of it is done with love and commitment.
