Duck Race to benefit LightHouse

duck2013On July 4 the Red River will take on a yellow hue as thousands of rubber ducks fight their way downstream.

The Bossier Rotary Club’s third annual Marshall Johnny Wyatt Memorial Duck Race will once again benefit the Volunteers of America LightHouse as well as the Gingerbread House.

Rubber ducks can be purchased for $10 at www.bossierduckrace.org and the duck who reaches the finish line near the I-20 Bridge first will win $10,000 for its sponsor.

The ducks will launch near the Boardwalk at 3 p.m. and all ducks should be finished by 4 p.m. The winner does not need to be present to win.

Ducks are available from all members of the Bossier City Rotary Club and will be sold each Saturday until the event at the Louisiana Boardwalk.  Ducks are also available online at www.bossierduckrace.org.

Volunteers are also needed to help sell ducks at the Boardwalk. Contact Carolyn Hammond at Carolyn.hammond@0426f73.netsolhost.com if you can help.
