As a Personal Care Attendant, you will help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities gain life skills, build confidence and live as independently as possible. You will make a difference every time you come to work.
Job Summary:
Responsible for maintaining a healthy, safe, and therapeutic environment for individuals served and following through on their individual plans of care.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure the health and welfare of the people we serve
- Assist individuals served with medication
- Assist individuals served with daily life activities such as: meal preparation, reading usage, use of telephone, use of community services (post office, mass transportation), housekeeping, clothing care, self-care, and personal hygiene
- Make food and non-food purchases for the home when requested
- Help individuals plan appointments and organize their schedule
- Provide individuals served with transportation arrangements – mileage reimbursed
- Assist individuals served with money management including budgeting, banking, and shopping
- Encourage engagement in social networks and communities
- Complete all required documentation in accordance with applicable state agency(ies) and Volunteers of America of North Louisiana’s policies and procedure
Qualifications:
- At least 21 years of age
- Must have a Driver’s License and keep car insurance up to date
- Meet and maintain all requirements of the applicable state agency(ies), including good standing with state abuse and neglect registry
Shifts Available: Full- and part-time positions available
Days – 7:00am – 3:00 pm * 8:00am – 4:00pm * 7:00am-7:00pm * 8:00am – 8:00pm
Evenings – 3:00pm – 11:00pm * 4:00pm – midnight
MUST be able to work WEEKENDS!
Special Requirements:
- Complete all PAID orientation and on-the-job training prior to starting work
- Work assigned shifts as required by management
- Attend all PAID training classes as required

Our Adult Behavioral Health Outpatient Treatment Program has an opening for a Mental Health Professional. Primary responsibilities include providing community-based CPST/PSR services, individual intervention, crisis intervention, and facilitating a variety of groups to address the needs of our consumers; conducting initial assessments and reassessments; administering and scoring LOCUS for adults as needed; maintaining consumer records, incident reports, service logs and progress notes, and timely billing entries; developing curriculum and providing staff training; and performing quality assurance functions as needed.
Requirements include a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology. Additional qualifications preferred, but not required, include a Board Certified Social Worker, or a Licensed Professional Counselor who is licensed under the provision of R.S. 37:1101-1115, or a candidate pursuing licensure or one whom has received provisional licensure.

We currently have an opening for a full time school based Mental Health Professional in our Youth Behavioral Health Program. Primary responsibilities include providing supportive counseling, individual intervention, parent/family intervention and crisis intervention for school aged children with mental health and/or behavioral health issues. Additional duties include collecting data for the initial assessment; conducting face-to-face interviews with the recipient and their family, which shall include school and home visits; providing crises intervention support as needed; and ensuring all records are accurately maintained and all invoicing is submitted in a timely manner. Minimum requirements for a Mental Health Professional II include a master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or social work. Preference will be given to those fully or provisionally licensed in the State of Louisiana. Candidate must pass a background check.
