Capital One Bank made the LightHouse a little brighter Thursday with piles of school supplies and a check for the after-school program.
Bankers gathered with about 40 elementary and middle school children from the program and presented them with the donations collected at branches across the area.
“They brought supplies so you can grow and learn and be good citizens,” Volunteers of America CEO Chuck Meehan said.
Along with the supplies came a $10,000 check for the program, which serves about 600 children at seven sites across Shreveport-Bossier City.
Chris Haskew, North Louisiana Market President, also had a few words of encouragement for the students.
“If you work hard, do well in school, be honest and help others, you will be successful,” he said. “We’re here to help.”
