Loaded down with boxes nearly as big as they are, children from the Bossier LightHouse went home with everything they needed for a Thanksgiving feast.
As has become part of their tradition, members of Asbury United Methodist Church put together Thanksgiving Blessing boxes for the families of the LightHouse.
“It’s a great way for the church to connect with the community,” said the Rev. Ramonalynn Bethley, senior pastor.
The church bought turkeys and asked families to take home a box and fill it with all the trimmings. In one Sunday, all of the boxes were claimed and a few other families brought their own boxes, which were able to feed those families on the waiting list.
