“Back in 1985, I had four children and I was studying in college. It had gotten to be too much for me and I had a nervous breakdown. That’s when my mental illness came into play. I was homeless for many years… until I found Vision of Hope. This program means so much to me, because it has given me my life back.”
Gloria
Vision of Hope
“I came back to the program to help restart my recovery,” he shared. “I would recommend this place to any veteran who is trying to get back on their feet, because of whatever reason. I believe it is one of the best - if not, the best - programs in this area.”
Brent
Veterans Transitional Living Facility
“It’s quiet. The atmosphere is controlled. It seems like the Lord is here, because it’s peaceful. The staff are understanding and caring. They are here when we need them and I want to stay here forever!”

“Volunteers of America has made a great impact on my life. My life was like a downward spiral. Volunteers of America brought me to where I am today.”
James
Supported Independent Living
“I was living with my daughter after Hurricane Katrina and now I am happy to live here. I feel very safe here and mainly, I feel very privileged to live here. I love my apartment and I wish you could all come tour it in person.”
